Hey Justin,
You tuned my Son's GT at Orlando SW FFW this year ( http://www.vmptuning.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89 ) and I know you are the guy for the new V6's too.
I have recently purchased an '07 Mustang V6 manual trans as my daily driver. I think the car is great with the exception of the 115mph speed limiter and the way the fly-by-wire throttle responds. I find it difficult to get a good take-off without slipping the clutch some to do so or it will bog down a little and sometimes act as though it may stall. Is this something you can tune out of or fix with the SCT Tuner? I am sure if I would do what you have done to Rebecca's Mustang it would take care of that problem.
But, I would like to still use the Regular gas if possible and as of now I do not want to change any mechanical parts with the exception of a cat-back (maybe) because of the 5 year / 60k warranty. I am wondering if any performance gains could be had without the CAI and without using Premium fuel and will you be able to get rid of that lag in throttle response at take-off using the SCT tuner on a bone stock V6'r?
Thanks in adavnce, Marty :)

Hi Marty, how have you been? I can improve the throttle response and get you a few more RWHP on 87 oct. The big gains are on 93 oct though, a solid 8-10rwhp and 8-10rwtq is what I see on the manuals. The car will also pick up about .5-1mpg on 93 oct due to the adavanced timing. I can also change some parameters in the tune to get you another .5-1mpg.
You should swap in a GT muffler, its a direct swap and worth 10-12rwhp as tested on my brothers 06 manual and Rebeccas car.
A cold air is worth 6-7RWHP, and does require a different tune. If you want to get the X2 now I will send you a CAI tune free of charge if you decide to install one later on.
We got 25rwhp out of rebeccas car with tune, muffler, and CAI, I posted about this on www.v6power.net (http://www.v6power.net) a while back.

I've been fine thanks Justin, also thanks for the reply so quick.
I am mostly concerned with the drivability as of now but I guess if I needed any warranty work done it wouldn't be too much to remove the CAI and tune before it goes to the shop.
Do you sell the GT mufflers and CAIs? What would the works run me if so?
If I go that route then I guess I could use the tune you have done for Rebecca's Mustang or would I still be needing a dynotune?
By the way, very nice full page write up of Rebecca and her Mustang in the latest 5.0 magazine! Tell her congratulations! :D

Hi, we can do it all over the mail, no dynotune necessary. I can get a new takeoff GT muffler for $100 including shipping to you. A JLT CAI runs around $200 depending on whether you want it body color or black, and a custom X2 is $399.

I'm going to run a special for the next week, $575 for a custom x-cal2 and JLT CAI gloss black (can upgrade to body color for $20 more), free shipping. Let me know if you want to get in on this. The muffler does not require a different tune, you can bolt that on any time.

Alright Justin!
I can't do anything this week :( but maybe when I can you'll be having another special. :D I can wish anyway . . . right?
I appreciate you letting me know about this deal though.

Hey Justin,
Sorry if it seems like I am asking too many questions but . . .
All I want for right now is to be able to change the way the Mustang acts when taking off. It's like when I first let the clutch out the computer senses a load and when I add very little throttle to it the computer senses it needs more throttle than I applied and it revs up a lot higher and faster than needed.
I have an '03 Mach and it does not act like this and I have driven manuals all my life (I grew up in the 60's with muscle cars so that's how long I've been driving manuals) and I have pretty much always had a car with a manual trans along the way, so I don't really think it's me.
Anyway, will just getting the SCT be able to fix that problem without changing the intake and exhaust?

Hey, well some people think a tune magically fixes everything, including problems with the car. In your case the torque table needs to be changed more to your liking. I can work with you on changing that. I can set the tune up so you just let the clutch out slowly and the car will not stall even with no gas pedal...or I can reduce the torque so it does not rev up so fast.
