Couple ?'s regarding Datalogging info + other ?'s..

First off is the datalogging feature only available for Ford's?? I purchased the SCT II almost specifically because I can datalog Ford and GM vehicle,, however I cannot even pull codes on any 96'+ GM cars.

2nd?,, Timing values,, at idle I'm showing between 10-25 (degree's??) of advance according to the chart/graph,, upon WOT it jumps to 1052267000.000!!! What exactly is that supposed to be? is that pulling timing or trying to add it? and how much can the factory DIS add or pull? certainly would explain the severe BOG I'm dealing with.

3rd: Is commanded Downshift programable? my car stays in 4th, 3rd, or 2nd way to long and refuses to downshift. it'll stay in 4th at like 15MPH and drags the rpms down to like 750 or below. takes a WOT stab in order to downshift. but then quickly goes right back into to high of gear to quickly.

4th :) Is the cam sensor and crank sensor info able to be datalogged? I would like to compare the data together to see if the cam sensor is properly aligned and in sync with the crank sensor in accordance to TDC.

Lastly: is there a manual available online that explains the datalogging data?

Sorry for all the question but I tried to search this material online with no luck.

Hi Brad, the X-cal2 only has the hardware to datalog/scan SCP and CAN protocol Ford vehicles, basically any Ford that is OBD2.

Cam post sens sync can not be measured that way.

Try datalogging SPARK or SPARK ADVANCE and you should get the correct values.

Only WOT shift points are adjustable on the X-cal2. If there is something specific you are looking for send me a detailed email and I can make program changes. In the case of shift points, list MPH, RPM, and approximate throttle position.

That was datalogging Spark Advance,, it seemed normal at idle hovering around 15-25* (bouncing) like any other ford I've seen but at WOT it jumped upward on the graph to that crazy number and was almost off the scale.

Wish you were closer to me (indiana) as I would love to get it on the chassis dyno after the supercharger install and maybe you can adjust the shift points (maybe not)

I was pondering something today,, The transfer function of a stock 50?mm TB 3.8L thunderbird engine TPS and now the 65-70mm unit that I have now wouldnt be the same. What I mean is,, isnt load (partly) based upon TPS voltage and isnt shift points and EPC pressure almost directly related to TPS voltage?

so if the motor is making the same amount of power now at 1/4 throttle as it did when it was 3/4 with the old engine,, wouldnt it be calculated different.

Starting to wonder if I was better off installing a 96' 4.2L F-150 computer and then tuning off of that.
