View Full Version : Gains from a VMP Dual 66MM TB on a stock blower car...

The graphs below are from some testing I did back in the cool fall/winter months of 2007. While testing the C&L Intake, I swaped on a prototype VMP Dual 66MM Throttle Body to see what kind of gains could be realized with a stock blower.

When removing the restriction of the stock dual 60MM throttle body on the inlet of the blower, the power increases by a solid 8RWHP above 5000RPM. Boost increased by about .6 psi due to the increased airflow.

During this particular test the stock blower only had a 2.6" upper pulley on it, and was only making about 13psi. Once you start increasing airflow with porting, a lower pulley, or an even smaller upper pulley (2.2" or 2.4") larger gains of 10-20RWHP will be realized from the VMP throttle body. Once you reach 550-600RWHP the stock throttle body becomes a huge restriction. On TVS cars you can expect a gain of 20-25RWHP from the VMP TB, depending on your boost level.
