Hi,
I was refered to your site by a friend of mine on http://www.bmcforums.com/ using the SN fr396. and he was telling me about your supercharger kit and how complete it was and how you specialized in the mustangs. My question comes into about the computer... Im worried when it comes to installing the 11psi system on my new and still completely stock (cept for the air filter thats upgraded to K&N) 04 3.9L Mustang. (which id really like to do when i get the $$) Now the actual installation of it isnt what scares me since im good at working on cars.. its the computer im worried about. I really dont want to blow my engine the first time out and look like a fool... but i know the computer will need reprogramed for the new parts i plan to put on it ... can you tell me what the "Custom VMP Tuned SCT X-Calibrator 2 Flasher/Datalogger" is and how it works and if its what reprograms that computer? If possible in dummy terms? Im really bad with tech lingo..
Is the kit a install and go kit too?
Thanks for the help,
Shawn

(btw This will be my first SC instillation if ya hadnt guessed already)

I usually take cash, I can take CCs beforehand, I don't always have internet access at the shows.

You are looking at around $300 to tune it at the show if you already have an x-cal2 or chip.

What about checks? do ya accept them too?

The procharger kit says it comes with a Custom VMP Tuned SCT X-Calibrator 2 Flasher/Datalogger.. is that not a chip? Figured id get everything installed.. (of where i could figure itd all go...) load it on a car carrier and bring it out to ya at the show that way.. As long as the instalation instructions are pretty clear all that should be left is the tuning really...

The x-cal2 is actually a flasher, same ultimate purpose as a chip though, it puts a tune on your car.

Yeah all that *should* be left is tuning. I will give you a temp tune to drive the car around on and make sure it runs right, maybe times little things get messed up during installation that will cause problems while tuning. Crushed wiring harnesses, vacuum leaks, bad O2 sensors, crossed plug wires, tubes blowing off, etc.

If you are going to do it this way where you buy the kit now, and I tune it on my dyno later then I can change around the pricing structure a little bit, send me an email for a new quote.

Thanks,

New question but still concerning the supercharger...

Will the underdrive pullys harm/make less effective the perfomance of the superchager?

Yes, you don't want an underdrive crank pulley with a blower,it will make a lot less boost.
