Hello

I have noticed something I need to clarify for me please

the stock GT 500 engine coolant will reach 215 F before the fans comes in and cool it to around 199 F and starts go up again

Is this the right way to cool the engine as head temperature will reach about 230 F, I would prefer to keep the temperature at a steady 199 F or lower to minimize power loss.

and is a 180 F thermostat a good idea? how about the fan, will it need reporgamming if so? I thing keeping the engine cool and head temperature low will help extracting more power at higher boost levels

any input will greatly help

Thanks

Stock thermo is 192, I run much more agressive fan settings in my tune which keeps the temp closer to that. A 180 or 170 thermo is not a bad idea either.

So a tune should solve it

Justin, what do you set the fan temp settings to with a 170* t-stat?

I would set the high and low fan about 6-12* above the t stat temp.
