View Full Version : VMP Tunes the 2010 Shelby GT500 Mustang

A while back Steve Turner from 5.0 Mustangs and Superfords magazine brought over a 2010 Shelby GT500 for a host of VMP upgrades. For those that have not seen the article, here is the short version, full article below.

The 2010s have a factory CAI and more aggressive tune, but there was still plenty left on the table.

Due to the boost in factory HP over 07-09s, a good way to start is with a pulley and tune. We installed a VMP stock-look 2.65" pulley on the car and picked up some good power, a long with a VMP custom tune. Next we added a VMP dual 67mm throttle body and played around with removing the factory resonator/silencer and trying a higher flowing air filter. At this level the gains from a silencer delete and airfilter are negligible, but there may be better gains at higher power levels. I am working on a high-flow factory replacement filter and silicone inlet tube.
